| Welcome to StudyPorch |
StudyPorch offers Instructor led online Math classes for middle and high school students. Our fully interactive web based online classroom environment provides the students with a superior experience that is comparable to a physical classroom. The students can take the classes from the comfort of their homes at a time of their choice.
StudyPorch’s objective with these classes is to help the children develop a strong foundation in all the core Math concepts and enhance their analytical skills by exposing them to different types of problems and problem solving techniques. We believe that with our approach children feel empowered and develop a life long love for Math and the necessary self-confidence to perform better in school and competitive exams for college admissions.
Time magazine in a recent cover story about “How to Build a Student for the 21st Century” talks about the
inefficient Math learning approach followed by most schools in the US. Students from Singapore, Belgium and Sweden outperform American students on math and science tests.
Classes in these countries dwell on key concepts that are taught in depth and in careful sequence, as opposed to a succession of forgettable details so often served in U.S. classrooms. They have extremely small textbooks that focus on the most powerful and generative ideas. These might be the key theorems in math, the laws of thermodynamics in science or the relationship between supply and demand in economics. America's bloated textbooks, by contrast, tend to gallop through a mind-numbing stream of topics and subtopics in an attempt to address a vast range of state standards.
StudyPorch classes focus on fundamental concepts and improving problem solving skills for students. Check out our courses for more information.
